Hello, and welcome to the Grant Elementary Learning Commons, otherwise known as the library! My name is Mary Totin and I am the Library Media Teacher at Grant and Harvey Elementary schools. I am honored to be part of the dedicated staff at both campuses and look forward to working with students, parents, and teachers. I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and have taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades, 7th grade reading, and PE. I received my masters degree in Library Science with School Librarian certification from the University of North Texas in Denton and consider being a library media teacher my dream job!
I love helping students find good books to read and to see them get excited about reading. This a big part of their development into lifelong readers and learners, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of that. I will also be helping students develop their technology and information literacy skills and collaborating with teachers to support their classroom curriculum.
